California Chrome's odds to win the Triple Crown have decreased from +200 to -140 after the colt won the Preakness Stakes. The odds imply that California Chrome's chances of winning the Triple Crown have increased from 33 percent to 58 percent.
Note: twenty other horses have lost their bid for a Triple Crown after winning both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, five since 2002 alone including the most recent, I'll Have Another in 2012.
2014 Belmont Stakes - Margin of Victory - Will it be 2 lengths or more?
How long is a length? A length is the measurement from a horse's nose to tail, approximately eight feet. California Chrome won the Preakness by 1 1/2 lengths, the Kentucky Derby by 1 3/4 lengths and the previous four races by six lengths on average.
Note: Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes by 31 lengths.
2014 Belmont Stakes - Winning time
The last four winners of the Belmont Stakes have ran a time slower than 2:30:00 but nine of the previous ten winners all ran a time faster than the posted over/under.
