The $1 million Jockey Club Gold Cup highlights a Super Saturday of racing at both Belmont Park on Long Island and Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. There are a total of seven Grade I stakes between the two tracks, of which all are part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series highlighted by the Grade I Shadwell Turf Mile which will air live on NBC Sports beginning at 5pm ET.

Wicked Strong (6/1)
Our selection in the Woodward, Wicked Strong ran a distant third to Liam's Map, a late arriving very good horse who will likely take up as the fourth choice in the Breeders' Cup Classic. Trainer Jimmy Jerkens is trying to get him back heading the right direction. The jockey change to front end riding master Joel Rosario could help keep him more forwardly placed though at a 10 furlongs on “Big Sandy,” the starting gate is placed in the middle of the turn (giving the outside runners a better angle to break).
His most recent final figure is a 77.2 making him a competitive sort and his earnings of $1.7million are second highest in the field.
The Play: Breakout – he needs a breakout race to set himself up for a Breeders' Cup Classic start and if he gets a decent pace up front this could be the race.
