The Jerome Stakes is the second oldest race in the country now in its 145th year and other than a three year hiatus from 1910-1914, it's run every year since 1866. It's the first major Kentucky Derby prep race of the year, run at 8" furlongs on Aqueduct's Inner Dirt Track for three year-olds with a purse of $200K. The Jerome carries 10 points towards qualifying for the Kentucky Derby.
